Banner Studio is a film and photography company based in Enschede, the Netherlands. This page explains what happens to the details you leave with us, why we need them and how long we keep them. It is written for the GDPR, the European privacy law.

What we collect and why
Contact form
When you send a message we receive your name, email address, your message and, if you fill it in, your phone number. We use those details for one thing: answering you and, if it turns into a job, arranging that job. The legal basis is your consent, which you give by ticking the box, together with our legitimate interest in replying to people who write to us.
Every message is stored on our own server and also sent to us by email. Messages stay in our mailbox as long as the contact is useful, and no longer than two years after our last exchange. If it becomes a paid job, the invoice details are kept for seven years because Dutch tax law requires it.
Server logs
Our hosting provider logs technical data such as your IP address, the time of the request and the page you asked for. This helps keep the site running and blocks abuse. These logs are deleted automatically after a short period.
Photos and film
If you appear in a photo or a video we make, that image is personal data too. We agree in advance where the material may be used. Recognisable images of people are only published on this website or on social media if we agreed that beforehand. Changed your mind? Mail us and we take the material offline.
Cookies and tracking
This site sets no tracking cookies and runs no analytics or advertising scripts. Fonts and images are loaded from our own server, so no data goes to third parties while you browse. That is also why you do not see a cookie banner here.
Who else sees your data
We only share your details with parties we need to run the site and our business:
- our hosting provider, which stores the site and the messages;
- our email provider, which delivers the messages;
- our accountant and the tax office, but only for invoices.
We do not sell your details and we do not pass them on for marketing. All parties above work within the European Union or under an approved transfer mechanism.
Your rights
You may ask us at any time to:
- show you which details we hold about you;
- correct details that are wrong;
- delete your details;
- send you your details in a common file format;
- stop using your details, or withdraw the consent you gave.
Mail info@banner-studio.com and you get an answer within four weeks. We may ask you to confirm who you are, so your data does not end up with someone else.
Not happy with how we handled it? You can file a complaint with the Dutch data protection authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
Security
The site runs over an encrypted connection (https). Messages are stored outside the public web folder, so they cannot be reached from a browser. Access to the mailbox and the server is limited to Banner Studio and the party that maintains the website.
Changes
When the way we work changes, this page changes with it. The date at the top tells you which version you are reading.
